    Description:
    Up for auction is one vintage set of yellow & white damask 8 placemats, 6+2 napkins and 1 table runner. These were a wedding gift to my parents in 1939 and have only seen light use in those early years and no use at all for the last 57 years.
    This damask fabric is very elegant and fine.
    It is a geometric patterned
    cotton fabric
    distinguished by using contrasting luster. The contrasting luster is created by utilizing a satin weave in combination with a sateen, twill or plain weave. These are reversible showing the pattern in the negative when turned over. These are really very lovely – even regal and display very beautifully on a table.
    They have been carefully stored in a smoke free home in a dining room chest for the last 57 years.
    The napkins measure 15” square.
    The place mats measure 15” wide x 11 inches.
    The table runner is 42 inches x 15 inches.

    Condition:
    All pieces but two napkins are in excellent condition.
    The last two pictures show the small defects in each of those napkins.
