Description

Up for sale is a super nice and scarce oval shape Antique BITTERS bottle embossed all on the front indented beveled sunken panel as indicated: John A Perry / Dr. Warren's / Bilious Bitters / Boston Mass. This outstanding 1870' s era bottle is listed in the popular book " Bitters Bottles " by Carlyn Ring / W. C. Ham.This particular aqua bottle is different being 8" in height ( not 7 5/8 in. ) and doesn't have a "s" at the end of Perry as seen in W -44. At the time of this book's publication in 1998 it was listed with a rarity scale rating of SCARCE .This bottle is in original near mint condition with absolutely no scratches, cracks, nicks,or dings as well as almost no interior clouds or haze. The embossing is very weak but readable which is usually found in this bottle and the glass itself is very clean and shiny. It has a flat narrow square collar mouth and a hinged mold smooth base with a large circular slightly recessed impression. There is a possible manufactured micro hair line stress crack approximately 1/4 in. long along the bottom edge of the base that is completely unnoticeable unless you tilt the base toward the light( see pic.3).Again this bottle measures approximately 8 in. in height and 3 1/2 in. in width.
