    Description

1989 Porsche 944 2.7L with 161,000 miles.  This is a NO RESERVE auction.
I am selling this car for a relative, and will do my best to accurately describe the condition, as far as I can tell.  This car does have some issues, which I have described below.  It has been owned by its current owner for about 6 years, and was driven regularly for most of that time.  In the last two years it has not been driven much, mainly a few miles at a time around town.  Due to that fact, I would highly suggest trailering the car back to your destination.  It appears to run and drive OK, but it has not seen a lot of time recently at interstate speeds.
I have taken some videos of the car starting and driving:

    POSITIVES:
-Has the larger 2.7L engine found on the 1989 models.
-The car starts and idles well, and seems to drive fine, except for a few issues noted below under "Negatives."
-The car comes with 4 additional tires with 90% tread remaining. (Yokohama Avid Touring S - P215/60R15 93T)
-The car comes with a spare 1989 5 speed transmission.  The owner intended to use this for a rebuild, and the condition is unknown.  It was described by the seller as being in good working condition, but it was not actually rebuilt, so the condition can't be verified.
-The body is in fairly good shape.  It is mostly rust free, aside from a few areas where the paint has faded, and one area near the rear taillight that is showing a little paint bubbling.  The panel gaps appear normal and the doors/hatch/trunk open and close normally.
-The sunroof is operational and opens and closes normally.
-Pop-up headlights function smoothly and normally.
-The car has a battery that was purchased in the last year.
-There is 90% tread remaining on the tires that are on the car, in addition to the 4 additional tires.
-Interior door and trim panels appear to be in good shape, as is the rear seat.  The car has the factory sound upgrade package, and a fairly new stereo that is in working order.
-Exterior glass, windshield, and hatch are in good shape.
-The body seals and rubber appear to be in good shape.  Not much sun fading.
-The interior dash buttons have been replaced as necessary, and are in better shape than the average 944.
-The cruise control has been replaced with a remanufactured unit.
-Some water hoses have been replaced with blue silicone.
-Spare tire and jack are present, as well as the manual and a Porsche electric tire pump.
    NEGATIVES:
-The car is in pretty desperate need of a paint job.  The clear coat is peeling on the hood and roof, and is down to primer in a couple places on the header panel and driver side fender.
-There is a fair amount of vibration, which disappears at higher rpm.  I am assuming this is most likely motor mounts, but I can't say for sure.
-There is an audible rattle when the clutch is engaged, but it does seem to engage smoothly and hold power.  If you listen closely to the shifting in the driving video you can hear the faint rattling sound.
-The air conditioning does not cool, but the heater works and the fan blows air normally.
-The car has a draw on the battery, and will run the battery dead after a few days of not being driven.  I have not investigated what is causing the battery draw.
-The front seats are in bad shape with multiple tears, as shown in the pictures.  The driver's seat plastic hinge cover has come off but is included.
-The dash is cracked and peeling in several places.
-The front bumper is cracked in two places, and will need to be repaired.
-The hood shocks and hatch shocks will need to be replaced.
-The center console plastic hinge has detached, but is included with the car.
    -The under-radio tray is missing.
-The leather shift boot is torn and has detached from the top of the shifter.
-The rear carpet has faded from black to a chalky grey, although this is not the case for the front carpet, which is still a nice black.
-The rearview mirror has fallen off, but is included.
    - The age of the timing belt and water pump in unknown.  It would be best to assume that both need replacing.
Overall, I think this could be a good example of a 2.7L 944 with a little effort in the hands of someone who is familiar with these cars.
This description represents everything that I know about the car, but if you have any other specific questions as to its condition, I may be able to answer them.
